第八六義中，眼等六根能生諸過，起根防護，即由能防護立所防護六法為根。由是男女堪得出家證果；由有命故住世集善；由知五受起諸雜染正智而行。餘文可知。

Eighth, among the six meanings: the six faculties of the eye and so forth can give rise to various faults, so one undertakes protection of the faculties; thus, from the protector, the six dharmas that are protected are established as faculties. By being male or female, one is capable of going forth and realizing the fruits; by having life, one remains in the world to accumulate good; by knowing that the five feelings give rise to various defilements, one acts with correct knowledge.
