下約十二處更明起處。言此十二處以為依止至差別而轉者，此中所辨本惑及隨惑總名隨煩惱，以後依前相隨起故。又復此中所辨隨惑名字次第，皆難可識，如前論中指雜事說，愁歎擾惱等相隨煩惱隨義施名，惑於本惑隨義施名，種種非一不可得定，但可隨文屬當起以。

Below, with reference to the twelve loci, the loci of their arising are further explained. Regarding the passage from 'taking these twelve loci as support' up to 'functioning with distinctions': here, the primary defilements and secondary defilements that are differentiated are collectively named 'secondary defilements', because the subsequent arise in accompaniment relying on the prior. Furthermore, here the sequential order of names of the secondary defilements analyzed is very difficult to recognize; just as the prior treatise pointed to the Kṣudrakavastu in its explanation, sorrow, lamentation, vexation, and so forth, as secondary defilements, are designated with names according to their meanings, or names are designated according to their meanings with respect to the root defilements; they are varied and not single, so they cannot be fixed—one should merely match their arisings according to the text.
