言若於後時彼方捨命等者，如刃斫人當時未死，後經一日方死，既無現行根本業道，云何熏成根本業種？解云：由彼所殺命終增上勢力，塗染此人方便熏種，令其增上成根本業。

Regarding the statement, 'if at a later time he then gives up his life,' etc.: like a person slashed with a blade who does not die at that time, but only dies after a day has passed—since there is no active fundamental path of action, how can it perfume into a fundamental karmic seed? Explanation: Due to the predominant force of that victim's death, it stains this person's seeds perfumed by preliminary effort, causing them to intensify into a fundamental karma.
