Regarding "the opposite of this is called indefinite fruition; further, there are four karmas": Jing says that this corresponds to the eight karmas of the Dārṣṭāntikas, and is not the same as the five karmas of the Sarvāstivādins. There are two kinds of karma of definite fruition: first, the retribution is definite while the stage is indefinite; such karma is created when an ordinary person, and whether in the body of an ordinary person, a noble one, or the body of an *aśaikṣa*, whenever the conditions combine in whatever body, it must be experienced; second, the time and stage of fruition are definite while the retribution is indefinite; karma created when an ordinary person, experienced during the two concentrations, or when entering the body of a noble *śaikṣa*, will definitely not be experienced after obtaining the basis-transformation of an *aśaikṣa*.
