17.231

In the former: 1. Falling into the realm of ignorance without the remaining three, referring to the seeds of ignorance. 2. Having the former two meanings, referring to the realm of ignorance and that which afflicts, meaning that ignorance arises in the present but does not initiate body and speech, and shame is produced. 3. Able to initiate karma: in addition to the former two, it is defiled by ignorance. The fourth initiates karma and furthermore lacks shame, which is called being captivated. Due to the first three, falling into the realm of ignorance is not called a deluded person; due to the last one, it is called a deluded person.
