初約行以辨三品，有二復次；二、生之所重；二、事；四、圓滿；五、臣；六、四語；七、受欲；八、食；九、約施以辨，分之有三：一、約物；二、約田有，二復次；三、約心；十、約戒辨，有七復次。

First, distinguishing the three grades in terms of practice, there are two alternatives; second, what is esteemed by life; third [second in text], affairs; fourth, consummation; fifth, ministers; sixth, the four modes of speech; seventh, enjoying desires; eighth, food; ninth, distinguishing in terms of giving, divided into three: 1. in terms of material things; 2. in terms of the field, having two alternatives; 3. in terms of the mind; tenth, distinguishing in terms of morality, having seven alternatives.
