Regarding 'there are those who can only accomplish the branch of receiving ordination without the remaining three, etc.': Jing and others state: 'It means that after receiving morality, not practicing the four dependencies and so forth is called lacking the branch of receiving training rules that conform to the Dharma; not observing the morality regarding social censure is called lacking the branch of guarding the minds of others; not observing the subsequent training rules is called lacking the branch of guarding the training rules previously received. Thus the first three are the morality of receiving ordination, and the fourth line is the morality of compliance. Now, examining the six branches of morality explained previously in the *Śrāvakabhūmi*, up to the fifty-third fascicle where the four branches of morality for bhikṣus are explained, it is identical with this: it subsumes the preceding six into four.'
