基云：一者、得定出已，方愛過去等住；二者、或未證得未來愛味，愛味未來定，或已得近分，愛味未來根本，或已得下品。愛味上品者，由愛味增上力，追求未來定等而生愛味；三者、已得近分及根本等，隨一與定心相入出，似定心不住散亂位而起愛味。

Ji says: First, having attained absorption and emerged, one then attaches to the past abiding; second, or not having yet attained it, one tastes attachment to the future, tasting attachment to future absorption; or having already attained the threshold concentration, one tastes attachment to the future fundamental [absorption]; or having already attained the inferior grade, one tastes attachment to the superior grade, and through the predominant force of tasting attachment, seeks after future absorption and the like, thereby generating tasting attachment; third, having already attained the threshold and the fundamental and the like, entering and emerging alongside one of them with the concentrated mind, resembling the concentrated mind without abiding in a scattered state, one gives rise to tasting attachment.
