Below, it explains what liberation of mind is liberated from. On 'One should know that it is emerging from the inferior defilements that are conjoined and commingled with it': when the pure mind emerges from the inferior defilements conjoined with it, this is called liberation of mind; that is, through the power of wisdom, the mind gets [free from] defilements. As stated in [fascicle] sixty-four: 'The obstacle of afflictions means that because of it, liberation through wisdom is spoken of; the mind is liberated. The obstacle to meditation means that because of it, the minds of Tathāgatas are spoken of as liberated'—that previous obstacle to meditation is the obstacle to the knowable; because the Tathāgata is free from this obstacle to the knowable, his mind is liberated; hence it says, 'namely, through the predominant influence of liberation through wisdom'.
