六、解了所依。此復四種者，（景補闕云：）一、由種性者即定種子即是因緣；二、由相者即是定體；三、由所緣者定境界；四、由成辨等者，即次第緣及威勢緣，助前二緣方有成辨。

Sixth, understanding the basis. This is again fourfold (Jing's Supplement says): 1. by gotra, which is the seed of concentration, namely the causal condition; 2. by characteristic, which is the substance of concentration; 3. by the focal object, which is the cognitive object of concentration; 4. by accomplishment, etc., which are the immediately preceding condition and the dominant condition, which assist the previous two conditions before accomplishment takes place.
