第三復次，云饒益所依者，由對治障為所依故饒益於定，增上心所依者，謂喜樂等與增上定為依。增上慧所依者，定為慧所依，此則前為後依也。

In the third explanation, 'basis of benefit' means that because counteracting the hindrances serves as the basis, it benefits meditative absorption. 'Basis of the higher mind' means that joy, bliss, and so forth serve as the basis for higher meditative absorption. 'Basis of higher wisdom' means that meditative absorption serves as the basis for wisdom; this is the prior serving as the basis for the subsequent.
