17.478

第四復次，為治三雜染住所對治。一、染污住者，對治支所除。二、苦惱住者，利益支所除。三、愚癡住者，由定發慧斷彼愚癡。

In the fourth explanation, they are the counteractions to dwelling in order to counteract the three defilements. First, defiled dwelling is eliminated by the counteractive factors. Second, afflicted dwelling is eliminated by the beneficial factors. Third, ignorant dwelling: by means of meditative absorption one engenders wisdom and cuts off that ignorance.
