三、解共相有三，所謂五根五塵是有對故。據方所故名初共相，即對解色亦名據相處義解色也。又即前十處體是對礙耳，有增減故解色名色共相為第二。

Third, in explaining common characteristics, there are three types. That is to say, because the five sense organs and the five sense objects possess resistance and occupy spatial locations, they are termed the first common characteristic; this is explaining form by opposition, and is also called explaining form through the meaning of occupying spatial position. Furthermore, the substances of these ten sense bases are simply obstructive and possess increase and decrease; hence explaining form [in this way] constitutes the second common characteristic of form.
