In the re-explanation following difficult points, Jing supplements the omissions, saying: Where it says "an aggregate of non-common primary elements," it means that wherein only one kind of primary element can be found—as in mountain forests where there is solely the earth element, in rivers and seas where there is solely the water element, in the heat of sunlight where there is solely the fire element, and in wind in the open air where there is solely the wind element, without any other primary element; this is termed 'non-common'. Any one primary element and the derived forms it produces interpenetrate and pervade one another throughout their substance. Where it says "an aggregate of non-non-common primary elements... up to where multiple types of primary elements can be found," it means that depending on how many primary elements a worldly object possesses, they occupy the same spatial location with their derived forms, their substances interpenetrating and pervading one another without increase or decrease. It is only within the same class that two substances obstruct each other and cannot interpenetrate, just as two earth elements, or two colors, odors, and so forth, are also like this.
