18.310

今約邊地獄故說有憂，約之既別有何相違。三藏云：純苦之處意地有苦之名憂根，如第三定樂在意地故無理違。

Now it is stated with reference to the marginal hells that there is distress; since the references differ, what contradiction is there? The Tripiṭaka Master says: in places of pure suffering, suffering on the mental stage is called the faculty of distress, just as in the third dhyāna pleasure is on the mental stage; therefore there is no logical contradiction.
