Below, fruition is distinguished in contrast to karma. The statement, "the non-defiled indeterminate fruition-result obtained from white karma with white fruition," is a general clause. The statement, "subsumed and sustained by seeds of exclusively agreeable feeling," clarifies that the karma is white. The statement, "should be known as exclusively agreeable and exclusively delightful," clarifies that the fruition is white. Although this passage does not specifically designate the wholesome karmas of the three realms to bring out the essential nature of white karma, the intention is generally to take the wholesome karma of the three realms as its substance. In accordance with what is clarified below—where black-and-white mixed karma generally takes both wholesome and unwholesome karma as black-and-white mixed karma—one thereby knows that the wholesome karma aroused when not yet free from desire in the desire realm, whose fundamental and preparatory stages are not intermingled with evil, as well as the wholesome karma aroused when free from desire, are both the substance of white-white karma. The Abhidharma, relying on the text here, generally explains the wholesome karma of the three realms as the substance of white-white karma; in one passage of the Yogācārabhūmi, it explains only the wholesome karma of the form and formless realms as white-white karma.
