泰云：準此文，似初果人亦能以世俗道離欲。然有初果生上地，之過及起滅定之過，故未可為定，更須勘餘經論也；別有轉法輪經，初果亦生上也。

Tai says: According to this text, it seems that a person of the first fruition can also abandon desire through the conventional path. However, there are the faults of one at the first fruition being born into higher stages and giving rise to the concentration of cessation; therefore it cannot yet be taken as definitive, and further verification with other sūtras and treatises is required. There is separately the *Dharmacakrapravartana Sūtra* [which mentions] that one at the first fruition is also born above.
