18.597

有師釋云：此文總解世俗智能伏煩惱得定，爾時得初果，是故說言復於此上隨其所應，不應說言初果伏惑得入定也。

A master explains: This text generally explains that conventional knowledge can suppress afflictions and attain concentration, at which time one attains the first fruition; therefore it says 'Furthermore, beyond this, according to what is appropriate'; one should not say that one at the first fruition suppresses delusions and attains entry into concentration.
