18.61

然始迴向大等入方便，故方不定名方便不定也。前人是凡夫時有三乘種子，或即迴心或總定不定人不定其位，次定亦爾。此不定姓人或具三乘種子，或唯具二種子等。

Only then does one direct oneself toward the great and so forth and enter expedients, which is why it is indefinite and called indefinite through expedients. When the former person was an ordinary being, they possessed the seeds of the three vehicles; either they redirect their mind, or in general, between definitive and indefinite persons, their stages are not fixed; the next determination is also like this. This person of indefinite gotra either possesses the seeds of all three vehicles, or possesses only two kinds of seeds, and so forth.
