Seventh, explaining the differentiations of attaining supernormal powers. Regarding 'like King Māndhātṛ, and so forth': *man* here means 'I' (mām); *dhāta* here means 'nurture', or it means 'uphold', or it means 'nourish'; this is King Uposadha's son, King Mūrdhagata (Peak-Born). His father originally was born from an upper arm. On this Arm-Born King's head there was a blister, which later was on his hip; the blister opened and there was a boy, extraordinarily handsome. The Arm-Born King embraced him into the inner palace. The king had one hundred wives; the king said, 'Who can hold and nourish this child?' They all knelt and said, 'I can hold and nurture him' (*māṃ dhāsyati*). The king then entrusted him to the first wife to hold and nourish; hence he had this name. Here [in China] he is called 'Peak-Born' (Dingsheng) after his birth, which is not his original proper name.
