18.611

如作幻惑厭禱起屍等者，三藏云：西方有人其以呪力或以幻力，令彼死屍往其他方語言問答，還本處名全起屍，若但令起坐報答於人不能行往他方，名半起屍。

Regarding 'such as performing illusions, incantations, corpse-revivals (vetāla), and so forth': the Tripiṭaka Master says: In the Western regions there are people who, by the power of incantations or by the power of illusion, cause that corpse to go to another place to engage in speech and conversation, and return to its original place; this is called a complete corpse-revival. If they merely cause it to sit up and reply to people but cannot walk to another place, this is called a half corpse-revival.
