Sixth, explaining having signs and being signless, supplementing the gaps says: Regarding "four have signs": reflection, morality, subsequent [knowledge], and the ultimate all possess conceptions and signs. This passage again states that the ultimate direct realization does not take the unestablished truth as an object, because it grasps exclusively established, sign-possessing objects. Morality is a material dharma whose distinctions of seven branches are termed having signs; this is not based on grasping signs that it is called having signs. The one that is signless is the fourth; the one that is both with signs and signless is faith.
