二十三作一行對辨相攝，初將思對信作四句，有思非信，除緣三寶思諸餘緣思，有信非思謂緣三寶聞修相應信，俱者謂緣三寶思者，此攝共有出體，思相應信，信亦名思，思亦名信，故言緣三寶思，亦思亦信，俱非除上說。

Twenty-third: Setting up a single practice to discern mutual subsumption. First, matching reflection against faith to form a tetralemma: there is reflection that is not faith, namely reflection taking any other object except for the Three Jewels; there is faith that is not reflection, namely faith associated with hearing and cultivation that takes the Three Jewels as its object; both, namely reflection taking the Three Jewels as its object—this subsumes co-arising phenomena to identify their essence, so faith associated with reflection can also be called reflection, and reflection can also be called faith; therefore, it says that reflection taking the Three Jewels as its object is both reflection and faith; neither comprises what is outside those spoken of above.
