第四徵破，若有因作而言我作，便違自宗；若無因作，我應恒作，我體恒有不待因故，如今作時。

The fourth interrogation refutes: if it acts with a cause, yet you say the self acts, this contradicts your own school; if it acts without a cause, the self should act constantly, because the substance of the self always exists and does not depend on causes, just as when it acts now.
