第五徵破意，若依自者，汝等既言此我自在，何須老病死等耶？若依他者，我不自在，以依他故。量云：汝我應不自在，繫屬他故，如僕使等。

The intention of the fifth interrogation and refutation: if it depends on itself, since you say this self is autonomous, why is there old age, sickness, death, and so forth? If it depends on another, the self is not autonomous, because it depends on another. The syllogism is: Your self should not be autonomous; because it is subordinate to another; like a servant, etc.
