Regarding the statement that being able to subsume supporting affairs is called property (parigraha): the Abhidharmasamuccaya states: 'Because one extensively accumulates all articles of utility, they are constantly conjoined with fear, enmity, and so forth.' That text speaks of external [possessions], whereas this text speaks of supporting affairs, which can subsume the internal body that serves as support as well as the external affairs of utility articles. The difference between narrow and broad meanings is not contradictory. Such explanations of terms are as given in the ninety-eighth [fascicle] and the seventh fascicle of the Abhidharmasamuccaya; there are some differences, but for fear of prolixity I desist.
