別釋此三，斷彼命故，謂害，解支節故謂極害，計活命故謂執，計執殺生而活命故。

Explaining these three individually: severing another's life is called harm; dismembering limbs and joints is called extreme harm; holding it to be one's livelihood is called adherence, because one adheres to killing living beings to make a living.
