略義如貪，基解：別句有五，初句嗔自性，餘四句嗔所緣。略無行相，然所貪多分同，故云略義如前。要於有情方成業道，非情則輕，究竟者謂決定當害。

The summarized meaning is like that of covetousness. Ji explains: there are five distinct clauses; the first clause is the intrinsic nature of ill will, and the remaining four clauses are the intentional objects of ill will. It briefly omits the mental mode; however, since it is mostly identical with covetousness, it says that the summarized meaning is as before. It constitutes a path of action only when directed toward sentient beings; when directed toward insentient things, it is light. Its culmination means being determined to do harm.
