瞋恚中有五句,初句瞋自性,餘四句瞋所緣。略無行相。不起即已,起即多成業道,故不說之。要於有情,方成業道,非情即輕。 究竟者,謂決定當害。今此略義,合准前貪,貪陳究竟,此中不說。合准於前,多分同故,易可知故,如前釋故。
In ill will, there are five phrases: the first phrase is the intrinsic nature of ill will; the remaining four phrases are the objective supports of ill will. It briefly omits the mental aspect. If it does not arise, that is all; once it arises, it mostly accomplishes the path of action, so it is not stated. Only directed towards sentient beings does it accomplish the path of action; towards non-sentient things, it is minor. Culmination means definitely intending to harm. Now, this summarized meaning should be modeled on the preceding covetousness; covetousness set forth the culmination, but it is not stated here. It should be modeled on the preceding because it is mostly the same, easily known, and explained as before.
