2.54

無色界有煩惱故，有障故等者，基師解：由有煩惱故，死不自在尚有死，由有障即長壽天難故於住，正法不自在。今解，約惑業報，以顯無堪任義也。

Regarding 'Because the Formless Realm has afflictions, has obstacles, etc.': Master Ji explains: because of having afflictions, dying is not autonomous and there is still death; because of having obstacles, namely the difficulty of long-lived heavens, abiding in the true Dharma is not autonomous. The present explanation is: this is formulated in terms of affliction, karma, and retribution to demonstrate the meaning of lack of competence.
