泰云：所詮染淨義，依名句故能詮義立，故云依持建立，文即是俗語，今將俗字顯彼教字，故即彼名句二所依字。

Tai says: The meanings of defilement and purity that are expressed depend upon names and phrases, and thus the expressing meaning is established. Hence it says, 'established by dependence.' The syllables (vyañjana) are conventional language; here conventional written syllables are used to manifest those pedagogical syllables. Therefore, they are the syllables upon which both names and phrases depend.
