Below, the general and specific applications are distinguished. Among these seven: the three tathatās of transmigration, establishment, and wrong practice are possessed by all sentient beings equally. The two tathatās of selflessness and the tathatā of consciousness-only are possessed by all phenomena equally, because they pervade all phenomena. The tathatā of purity is possessed by the three vehicles equally, because the three vehicles sever defilements and equally realize analytical cessation; the tathatā of analytical cessation is shared in common by the three vehicles. Through the tathatā of correct practice, tranquility and insight are balanced; this demonstrates four kinds of equality. Fifth, the meaning of establishment: 'meaning that the container world, wherein all realms of sentient beings and so forth can be established': because the container world is formed to receive sentient beings, it is called establishment. That is, the realm of sentient beings is what is established. Here, the intention is to take the container world that can establish them; hence the text says 'whether one village-field or a hundred village-fields,' and the rest of the text can be understood from this.
