20.466

第二十二圓滿清淨門，前辨惛沈睡眠障觀。今言除遣惛沈睡眠心道滿者，因止發觀，止是因觀是果，舉離果障顯因圓滿，乃至所有掉舉惡作正善除遣名觀道滿者，此亦舉離因障顯果道滿。

The twenty-second section, on complete purity: previously, torpor and sleep were distinguished as hindering vipaśyanā. Now, saying that the fulfillment of the mental path dispelling torpor and sleep means that vipaśyanā is generated based on śamatha; śamatha is the cause and vipaśyanā is the fruit, and adducing the departure from the fruit's hindrance demonstrates the perfection of the cause. Up to: dispelling all restlessness and regret is called the fulfillment of the path of vipaśyanā; this also adduces the departure from the cause's hindrance to demonstrate the fulfillment of the fruit's path.
