Regarding the statement, "If all dharmas are cognised by mental consciousness, this is called the characteristic of being obtainable in all things of the same class": for example, establishing "Sound is eternal, because of being cognised by mental consciousness." If so, mental consciousness cognises all dharmas. Is sound eternal like empty space because of being cognised by mental consciousness, or is sound impermanent like a pot and the like because of being cognised by mental consciousness?
