第十三釋種姓門，文有四番。初辨羅漢種姓有差別故，有發大心，有入無餘，二明根緣有差別故，迴心時位不同。於中，初辨聲聞迴心時節位不同，後別辨菩薩容趣下乘，為佛所護定不趣入下乘；三、明迴向菩提聲聞，歸同如來入於無餘；四、明迴向菩提聲聞，從本已來當言不定種姓。

Thirteenth, the section explaining the gotra portal consists of four rounds in the text. First, it determines that because there are distinctions in the gotra of arhats, some give rise to the great aspiration, and some enter [nirvāṇa] without remainder. Second, it clarifies that because there are distinctions in faculties and conditions, the stages and times of turning the mind are not the same; therein, it first determines the differences in time and stages for śrāvakas turning their minds, and next separately determines that while bodhisattvas might potentially turn toward the lower vehicle, protected by the Buddhas they definitely do not enter the lower vehicle. Third, it clarifies that śrāvakas who resolve on bodhi, returning to identity with the Tathāgatas, enter [nirvāṇa] without remainder. Fourth, it clarifies that śrāvakas who resolve on bodhi should be said to have belonged to the indeterminate gotra from the very beginning.
