In the former [part], there are four: first, explaining name, phrase, and syllable; next, explaining speech; third, explaining activity; fourth, explaining the request of the receptive audience. In the first, there are two: first, an individual explanation; afterwards, a general explanation. Being about to explain the text, six approaches are first established to analyze the groups of names, phrases, and syllables: first, discerning the substance and explaining the designations; second, clarifying whether they follow the body or speech and the realms to which they are bound, as well as their duration; third, differentiating them with respect to the three natures; fourth, clarifying whether name and the rest express phenomena exhaustively or not; fifth, clarifying the distinction of whether the eight consciousnesses take names as objects or not; sixth, clarifying the transformation of the basis of ideation, desire, investigation, and reflection so as to resolve contradictions and obstacles.
