第六解住門，言於初分中住四覺支者，謂定猗捨念。第二分中，住四覺支者，擇法精進喜念。第三分中，具足安住七覺支者，定慧俱分具足七覺。未曾安住唯一覺支者，達師云：謂念覺支是修行初首也。更解曾無行者，唯住一覺支也。

Sixth, explaining the gate of abiding: regarding 'in the first division, abiding in four factors of awakening,' this refers to samādhi, pliancy, equanimity, and mindfulness. 'In the second division, abiding in four factors of awakening' refers to investigation of dharmas, vigor, joy, and mindfulness. 'In the third division, fully abiding in the seven factors of awakening' means the division possessing both concentration and discernment is complete with the seven factors of awakening. Regarding 'never having abided in only a single factor of awakening,' Master Da says: 'This means that the mindfulness factor of awakening is the foremost beginning of cultivation.' Another explanation is that no practitioner ever abides in merely one factor of awakening.
