24.22

初明過去等佛，由思緣起故得菩提，得菩提已後，觀緣起逆順道理現法樂住，今薄伽梵亦復如是，此明從釋迦如來向前七佛，同觀緣起得菩提等。

First, clarifying that the past Buddhas, and so forth, attained bodhi by reflecting on dependent origination, and after having attained bodhi, they contemplated the forward and reverse principles of dependent origination and dwelt in pleasant abiding in the present life; the present Bhagavān is also like this. This clarifies that from Śākyamuni Tathāgata back through the preceding seven Buddhas, all identically contemplated dependent origination and attained bodhi, and so forth.
