若舉者，謂三舉事，若有人惡邪不捨不見罪不懺罪，眾作羯磨，舉却此人不同僧事，名舉羯磨，或作羯磨，五德人為舉罪人，或舉五德為自恣人。

"Regarding 'censure' (utkṣepana): this refers to the three matters of censure. If someone holds wicked, erroneous views without abandoning them, does not see his offense, or does not confess his offense, the assembly performs a karman to censure and exclude this person from participating in the Saṅgha's affairs, which is called a karman of censure. Or they perform a karman wherein a person of five virtues is appointed as the accuser of offenses, or one of five virtues is appointed as the receiver of invitation (pravāraṇā)."
