言教升攝波葉者，舊云申怒林記也。西方有樹，名升攝波，其形似此方胡椒樹，此則如來對於慶喜願知無盡之譬也。盲龜者，可引廣論。

Regarding "the simile of the śiṃśapā leaves," the old rendering was the simile of the Śiṃśapā Grove. In the western regions there is a tree named śiṃśapā; its shape resembles the pepper tree of this land. This is the Tathāgata's simile to Ānanda about the inexhaustibility of the objects of knowledge. The blind turtle may be cited from the Extensive Śāstra.
