Third, explaining the topic of truth. Master Jing combined the two further alternatives into a third topic, "truth and understanding"; here we do not follow this. Master Da says: Question: Why, within the topic of the real objective realm, are consciousness and name-and-form not mentioned? Answer: They are included within what has already been spoken. As for "the realm of disgust and eradication, detachment from desire": this refers to the non-desire realm, the realm of cessation. "The bodies of names, phrases, and phonemes are called the Dharma realm (dharmadhātu)": first, because they flow from the most pure Dharma realm, from the cause they are also called the Dharma realm; second, relying on cultivating them, one can realize the Dharma realm, so from the fruit they are also called the Dharma realm; third, expressing the Dharma realm, they are also called the Dharma realm. "Furthermore, through such distinctions..." and below explains the names and meanings of the distinctions among conditioned phenomena.
