愛支體唯煩惱中貪，此雖通緣內外二果，諸論多取緣外境愛，因迷外境增上果愚，緣境界受所發生故。

The essence of the craving branch is solely greed among the afflictions; although this generally takes both internal and external fruits as objects, the treatises mostly take craving directed toward external objects, because it is produced relying on the feeling of sense objects through delusion regarding external objects, which is ignorance regarding the overriding fruit.
