答：行為識雜染緣能引能生後有果故等者，謂行能引現識種子能生後有識現行故，非如名色但為根境能生識也。

Answer: Regarding the passage "Formations serve as the defilement condition for consciousness because they can lead and produce the fruits of future existence," and so forth: formations can lead the seeds of present consciousness and can produce the active manifestations of future consciousness; it is not like name-and-form which merely serves as sense faculties and objects that can produce consciousness.
