Sixth, in the subsumption under the four truths: having explained here that seven links are all the truth of suffering, it concludes by explaining that the remaining five links are only the truth of origin. This is because it wishes to show the distinction between the essences of the two truths, not that the five links are entirely the truth of origin. The Cheng weishi lun states: "Because their nature is that of grasping aggregates, they are all subsumed under the truth of suffering; because their nature is karma and affliction, five are also subsumed under the truth of origin. Oppression is the meaning of suffering, and all are suffering; because they invite maturation, which is the meaning of origin, five are also the truth of origin."
