體者，總明緣起，三世分位生引因緣流轉還滅之體，非是別顯十二緣生一一別體。下差別門當廣釋，文分為三：初標三相，次隨別釋，後總結之。

'Essence' generally clarifies dependent arising: the essence of the transmigration and cessation of causal conditions that generate and lead across the stages of the three time periods; it does not individually show the distinct essence of each of the twelve links of dependent arising. It will be extensively explained below under the heading of Distinctions. The text is divided into three: first, marking the three characteristics; next, explaining them separately in sequence; finally, concluding them generally.
