正斷作意，俱作二事者，遍知真如復能斷惑，基云：遍知作意遠加行道，正斷作意近加行道及無間道。

"Mental application of right abandonment does both things": it thoroughly knows tathatā and is also able to sever afflictions. Ji says: "Mental application of thorough knowledge is the remote path of preparatory application; mental application of right abandonment is the proximate path of preparatory application and the uninterrupted path."
