4.140

一云，我思惟如此如此者是散心所緣，若我思惟如是如是者是定心所緣，由作此散心思故，究竟當有如此如此決斷果遂，作是定心思故，究竟當辨決斷果遂。

The first says: 'I contemplate thus and so' is the object of the distracted mind; 'if I contemplate such and such' is the object of the concentrated mind. Because one engages in this distracted contemplation, in the end there will be thus-and-so definite fruition attained; because one engages in this concentrated contemplation, in the end there will be accomplished such-and-such definite fruition attained.
