The second fascicle of the Prakaraṇāryavācā states: "Emptiness is of two kinds: first, the knowable; second, knowledge. The knowable refers to the absence of the intrinsic nature of both sentient beings and dharmas within the parikalpita nature, and the existence of the non-self nature that remains apart from them. Within all dharmas, the absence of the imagined nature is precisely the presence of the nature of non-self; the presence of the nature of non-self is precisely the absence of the imagined nature. This very nature of non-duality between existence and non-existence is named the knowable emptiness."
