5.128

又有四種，欲勒為先乃至能得善法及能增長者，則四正斷，斷現行諸不善法者，是律儀斷，斷彼繫者謂斷斷，未生惡法名彼繫故，能得善法謂修習斷，及能增長謂防護斷。

Furthermore, regarding '[there are four kinds], with zeal and diligence as the foremost... up to being able to attain wholesome dharmas and being able to increase them': these are the four right abandonings. Severing arisen unwholesome dharmas is the abandoning through restraint. Severing their attachments is the abandoning through abandonment, because unarisen evil dharmas are called their attachments. Being able to attain wholesome dharmas is the abandoning through cultivation. And being able to increase them is the abandoning through protection.
