「又有四種欲勤為先乃至能得善法，及能增長」者，即四正斷。　「現行諸不善法」者，是律儀斷。　「及斷彼繫」者，謂斷斷，未生惡法名彼繫故。　「能得善法」，謂修習斷。　「及能增長」，謂防護斷。

"Furthermore, there are four kinds preceded by desire and exertion, up to being able to obtain wholesome dharmas and being able to increase them": these are the four right abandonments (samyakprahāṇa). "Present unwholesome dharmas" refers to abandonment through discipline. "And severing their fetters" refers to abandonment through severing, because unarisen evil dharmas are called their fetters. "Being able to obtain wholesome dharmas" refers to abandonment through cultivation. "And being able to increase them" refers to abandonment through protection.
